I tried cold turkey, Wellbutrin, and nicotine gum & patches but nothing worked. I quit smoking 2 packs a day and says "it was easy" quitting with Nicotine Solutions. In one year i has saved over $6000 from quitting smoking!

Lela, I thought that this class was going to be another useless attempt at my quitting especially when you said that we could keep chewing while we learn to quit. However as long as you are honest with yourself (some may not be) and you follow the instructions, people such as myself (a hopeless chewer of 24 years) can even do it. My family and I thank you for helping me quit chewing, hopefully I haven’t caused any permanent damage already. I am going to live life as if I haven’t!

I Used to chew 5 cans a week. I am excited to spend the rest of my life as a non-chewer. It doesn’t have a hold on me anymore.

I am here with Tracy Fults and you quit smoking with Nicotine Solutions on March 15th, 2019. Yes, I did. And tell me what kinds of things that you tried to quit smoking before you found Nicotine Solutions? I tried every prescribed medication that's out there. Wellbutrin is the one I remember because I didn't sleep for a week. Oh my gosh. Yeah, it was not fun. I did patches, I did the gum. I tried cold turkey, I can't tell you how many times, and I would generally not make it through 24 hours. I went to the worst possible cigarette I could think of which backfired. What happened? What was that? It was a menthol. I wasn't a menthol smoker. I thought if I start smoking menthol, I'll hate them. It didn't work. Nothing worked until I found Nicotine Solutions. After you quit, how's your life different now? Well, I don't worry about going places without looking, you know, remember the looking? Yeah, my cigarettes, where's my lighter? Make sure I have it all packed up. Yeah, I don't have the nasty cough. I'm saving a small fortune because I was a two pack a day smoker. Two packs a day, I was serious. If you were to give some advice to people that are you considering quitting? What would you say to them? I would say to call Lela! Go with Nicotine Solutions because having tried absolutely everything else under the sun this was the only thing that worked and it was not horrible. That was the best part. It was easy. What do you think was different about Nicotine Solutions and everything else that you tried? Your process is very well designed to step down and to put real serious thought about the habit. While you're going through this process, you're actually detoxing slowly instead of all at once. You also explained of all of the symptoms that I were going through while I was quitting and that helped immensely because a lot of people would not realize that’s was just because your body was cleaning itself out. And it was actually a good thing even though you think oh my God I’ve got this headache. Yes, I call it something different than everybody else calls it! I call it ‘a symptom of recovery’. It's a positive thing that your body's doing. I feel sorry for people that go through all those horrible side effects when they really don't need to. No because every step of the way you were there explaining and you were giving us ways to help counteract it, which all worked. I'm so proud of you. Thank you.

I'm here with Jodi Bushnell, and she's from Alameda, California. Jodi, tell us when you quit smoking and what are some of the things that you tried to quit smoking? I quit on January 8th, 2015. Before I quit with Nicotine Solutions, I had tried Chantix, hypnosis and I read that stupid Allan Carr book that only deals with your brain and it lasted for me a day and I think I started smoking probably before I closed the book. Let's talk about Chantix. What was it like with Chantix? It made cigarettes taste bad and you're supposed to pick a quit date. I quit, but then as soon as the Chantix was out of my system, I went back to smoking. You know, tasting like cigarettes again. I kept trying to see if it would taste better and eventually it did. I kept smoking. I quit cold turkey. I think I've tried everything in the book to break the habit and nothing stuck until I took your program. You were kind of a closet smoker too, right? Yeah, as far as I know, not many people knew I smoked. I had a couple people I could party with. Uh huh. They would have a cigarette out in the open. Right. I tried to hide it from everybody. What was it like to try to hide it? I got caught sometimes, and I would throw the cigarette down, like, I wasn't really smoking that. So, I would just toss it down, like, that cigarette didn't come from me. I don't know where that cigarette came from. I mean, it was so stupid, but I couldn't quit smoking, but I so wanted to quit. You tried all those things and then what was the transformation like by the time you actually quit smoking with Nicotine Solutions? What was different about it? Well, it was different because I had your program behind me, right? But I mean, what was the change that you went through after you quit? What was different in your life? Oh, I didn't have to hide anything. I didn't have to buy cigarettes. I didn't have to worry about running out. I didn't have to stink or use mouthwash a million times a day which wasn't a bad habit, but for the reason I was doing it was not the greatest. For full disclosure, Jodi is my BFF and neighbor and I have been teaching this since 1978, and my rule has been that I never teach friends or relatives to quit smoking. I think I knew you for about four years before we even discussed it. You thought I didn't know you were a smoker, but I did know. I was really hesitant because I really wanted you to be able to quit and I waited until you came to me and said you were trying that's after you tried the Allen Carr book. I said come on, I can I can teach you how to do this but it was really kind of against what I thought would work because I said, I remember saying at the time, okay, we're best friends, but what you've got to do is be the student and I've got to be the teacher. I wasn't sure if it was going to work, but it did. Yeah, well, I wasn't sure either. I just put everything aside and just listened to you and went by the program and did what you told me to do. I just followed the rules and so that's what I did. I just followed your program. I just tried my best and gave it my all and it was the easiest thing I ever did. You know, it was work, but it was so worth it. And what was different about Nicotine Solutions and all those other things that you tried like Chantix and the Allan Carr book. It not only dealt with the addiction, but you seemed to know everything about what I was going to be going through, and I used to say, you zinged me again. Sometimes I would smoke a half a cigarette and I would put it up and then smoke it later. And then when we got to a point in the program where you had us keep track of our cigarettes and you said If you put it out and light it again, that's two cigarettes. I was like, darn it, but you knew everything that I was going through when I was going through it, and it helped so much because you talked me through it. You got me not smoking and not wanting to smoke. What If you were going to talk with or to give somebody advice that's still smoking and looking at this program. What would you tell them? Buy two of them. I would love everybody who smokes to take your course because it's the easiest way to quit. No drugs and everything is positive about it. You just have to do it and listen to you and do what you ask and then it works. Well, thank you so much for talking with me today and I'll probably see you around the docks. We live in a floating home community!

I am here with Angela Rossi Burns, who I have known since when you quit smoking July 19th, 2012. Tell me a little bit about where you live and how you heard of Nicotine Solutions. I live in Cincinnati, Ohio, and I had googled one night in desperation, cold turkey please help me. And your page came up, and it had the option to fill out a form, and I must have been desperate because I filled out the form, and I actually hit send. The next day you called me. And I almost didn't answer it. I remember I was smoking in my car, and I pulled over, and I don't know why I answered it. Because normally by then during the day, I'd feel better, and I'm like, I don't need to anymore. Right. I was desperate to quit and so those were the days when I actually called people on the phone. Yeah, you called me and I remember you told me that before you quit smoking, you would have smoked in the shower if you could have kept them lit! Exactly. If I could have kept it like that, that's my big line. True, and that was me, and I'm like, yes, okay, I think I can do this. Right, so what were some of the things that you tried to quit smoking? I read the book by Allen Carr 3 times! I tried acupuncture and I got hypnotized. Okay, let's go back to Allen Carr. So how did that work for you? The first time I read it, I think I quit for about two weeks. I thought, oh, okay, that was good. I don't know why I started again but I just did. And then I go, oh, well, it'll be easy, I'll just read the book again. It was never the same. Right. Okay. Two weeks. Okay. The withdrawal was too tough by myself. And then what was the next thing you tried? I tried being hypnotized. How did that go? I switched my brand. Okay. That was about it. By the time I got home, I think my blood sugar must have plummeted. I felt terrible. I couldn't wait to get out of there and went straight on my patio and lit up a Marlboro light. Oh, right. And it was like, oh, thank God, I feel so much better now. And then, then any other things? I tried acupuncture and this guy put the thing in my ear and he said you're not going to want to smoke anymore. I was out in the parking lot driving home. I'm like, well, yes, I do. I quit cold turkey a couple times, but maybe for a month. And that was 10 years before I called you. I had quit for four years. But it was a struggle. Those four years were a struggle. Yeah. I always felt denied. For four years I craved a cigarette. I think I just finally broke down. Was there anything else you tried? I'd say that's enough. You name it, I tried it. I tried patches. So that didn't work. I'd take a patch off and have one. That was a hard luck case. I didn't think I'd ever quit. How is your life different now that you've quit. I wanted to do skincare and get a license to be an esthetician. That's what I wanted to do and being a smoker was my biggest hurdle. I knew I had to quit smoking if I wanted to become an esthetician. I really wanted to be an esthetician, but what am I going to do? Have a cigarette over them? It was just another thing smoking was going to stop me from doing. My first hurdle was I guess to quit smoking and I didn't really think I would. After I quit smoking, I thought I can go to school now. How was Nicotine Solutions different than all the other things that you tried? It was the gradual unwinding of the psychological habits and the physical addiction. We stepped down nicotine wise and I didn't feel sick like when I quit cold turkey in the past and I would feel terrible for days. And then psychologically we smoked for 6 weeks so I had time to get over all the hangups and all the associations. I didn’t really realize until I went through the program, how many things were wound up with my habit. I always tell people, you know, it takes at least 21 to 42 days to change a habit. I've kept up in touch with you and you would say I'm now an esthetician and it was so cool because you developed your own products and a lot of them have to do with rejuvenating your skin after being a smoker. Tell us more about a smoker's skin. Well, it’s got a little pallor to it. You can just tell and no matter what you do it's there because your skin lacks oxygen. Just like your body is losing oxygen, your skin is asphyxiated. Do the products that you have developed bring oxygen to the skin again? Yes, and it revitalizes the skin and helps ease the smoker's lines. Your skin looks fabulous, by the way. It's like a breath of fresh air! If you we're giving advice to someone that's smoking now and thinking about this program, what would you tell them? I would say do it. Do it. Make it your biggest desire. Follow it through and trust the process. Don't question the process. Don't overthink it. If they tell you to count these cigarettes just count them. It doesn't matter why or how it works. It just matters that it works. Just trust the process. Thank you for speaking

Nicotine Solutions is a gift to a smoker that I can’t thank you enough. I have tried so many methods and this was the only thing that worked. I was afraid that after trying so many methods I would relapse, but I am a true non-smoker. Hi, I'm here with John Kumpunen, and he's from Toronto, Canada. You quit smoking with Nicotine Solutions and you quit smoking a pipe and cigars. One of the things that you mentioned before you went through the program is one of your biggest fears was that you might relapse, and I know a lot of people have that same fear. I'm just wondering if you can talk a little bit about how Nicotine Solutions was able to help you get over that fear of not relapsing. As a smoker, and then all the smokers know that, you know we want to quit with whatever method works, and this is the critical part is that what will work for me. Often you come to a quit scenario, you've tried several times, you know, maybe tens of times to quit you know, hypnosis or, or whatever, all sorts of methods that, that are out there and all of them seem to have failed. You're very reluctant to go to another program where the possibility of relapse is high again. What I found with my personal experience with Nicotine Solutions was that the program has so much built-in redundancy, meaning, you're teaching the horse to jump ten feet high versus you only need to, to jump two feet high. So even if you do falter in some stages of the program, it doesn't matter because you're going to be covered. Someone's having your back, even when you falter, and that's wonderful. Literally out of ten different strategies and tactics that I've tried to quit, this, this one worked. I've now been off since August, 2007. I quit smoking pipes and cigars, and I haven't even thought about it. The beautiful thing about this was that for some reason, I don't even think about smoking anymore. It's like I never smoked. It's such a gift to a smoker because we are so obsessed with the, with the stuff. We're so obsessed with the addictiveness of the nicotine and stuff that we can't leave the house without our, our smokes. We can't do anything without our smokes and, you know, you're always like a slave to that nicotine. Now, all of a sudden when you're free to go out to wherever you want and you don't need your smokes, and in fact, you look disapprovingly at people who do smoke, It's a complete life change. It really is, and it's wonderful. I can't thank you enough, seriously. it's such a different feeling once you've gone through Nicotine Solutions because you know that you're covered psychologically and emotionally and physically. It’s now three years later and it’s like I never smoked. I don't think about it. There’s ongoing support as well and I know I can always get that great support, but I actually don’t really need that support any more.

I’m Kyle Lucovsky. My quit date was February 18, 2011. Before I started Nicotine Solutions, I tried a number of different ways of quitting smoking, none that really worked for me. My goal was to quit before graduating from NYU, which I have succeeded in that goal. My biggest fear before starting the program was that I wouldn't be able to quit comfortably, that it was just going to interfere with my life. But, through the classes and through the different assignments, it was really an easy step-down process and by the time quit day arrived, I was ready and prepared to quit. Since then, I couldn't be happier with my decision to quit smoking and I look at smokers and I'm happy that I can choose not to do that anymore!

I am here with Cee and Lyall from Canada and Manitoba. The two of you quit smoking January 14th, 2011. I want to hear a little bit about why you decided to take Nicotine Solutions. Cee said “My fear was that after smoking for 30 years, I actually would not be able to quit. And I'd had the fear a long time, and I really did want to quit When I listened to you on the webinar, I thought I'd take a chance, but I really didn't have any hopes that I would quit.” When you were on the webinar, I remember that you weren't even sure you wanted to give me your name. Absolutely not. I didn't want to commit myself because I didn't believe that I could do it. And Lyle, then she talked to you, right? Well, I heard you on the webinar as well and after the webinar we both thought that this was the way to go. Previous to listening to the webinar, I had tried to go cold turkey several times, and so I was doing it on my own without Cee and it never worked because I'd come up against something emotional or some problem or stress in my life, and I was back to smoking again. What was it like in terms of going through the program as a couple? Oh, it was fabulous because we could really support each other. Okay. it's been very, very easy. I can't tell you how easy it's been and it's been stress-free. What do you think is different about the process of Nicotine Solutions compared to other things? I think it's the program itself and how you teach the program and also being able to smoke right through the program. It makes a big difference. Huge difference. For me with the program, I found the program very, very subtle and very, very effective. Without really understanding it, I was weaned off of nicotine. It happened so gradually and, and so effectively that I still can't quite believe it. Well, I do because I'm a non-smoker now, and it's been awesome. I have to kind of pinch myself. I'm asking myself, "How did that happen?" But I was aware going through it all the time, you know? It was very, very effective. Well, thank you both so much. Hopefully other people will hear that it's possible and they'll try out Nicotine Solutions too. Oh, my goodness, yes. I hope they do. We sure hope they do. We'd recommend it to anyone. For sure. Great. Okay, thanks. Thank you. You're welcome.

The Doctor Told Hal That He Had to Quit Smoking Before Doing a Hip Replacement! I am here today with Hal David and I taught Hal David how to quit back in 2010, right? That is correct. We were talking before we got on this meeting and you couldn't really remember what date it was in the springtime, right? Yes, know, that's really a good sign that people can't remember even what their cutoff date was because you probably haven't given it a thought in the last few years, huh? Only grateful that I don't smoke anymore. Excellent. That's really a good sign. You heard about Nicotine Solutions through Evergreen Hospital in Washington state, right? That is correct. You went through with another friend of yours and so what are some of the things that you tried to do to quit smoking before you found Nicotine Solutions? I tried the patch and then I tried whatever the pills there were like Chantix. How, what was it like with the patch? I'd smoke with the patch on. Oh, okay. Which is really bad. Yes, it is. It's getting a real high content of nicotine in your system. Then you said you tried Chantix. What happened with that? That was the same. I mean it never stopped my craving for the cigarettes. I had social pressures on me that were self-imposed because I worked in the medical field as a therapist. You know, you see, you're a little bit more mindful of it. Yeah. So, after you quit what was the difference like after you quit smoking, you were still a therapist, right? No. I had retired. I retired before that and we moved. We left California and moved to Kirkland. Okay. And then you said, before we started recording, you said that so that you told your 8-year-old granddaughter that you were going to quit smoking and what did she say? She didn't believe I would quit and then. I asked her about it recently and now she's 18, and she says, I don't remember saying that. Yeah, a lot of times the people that really want you to quit the most are not always the most supportive and you've got to train them how to be supportive. I think she was just being honest because she knew her grandfather. Yeah. Granddaughters can see through grandfathers really quick. Yeah. And so and you said that nowadays you smell better? Yes. And what else? I don't get asked to leave the room by my wife. That's good. And I could share the same suitcases when we travel, share the same closets. I wasn't allowed in the house we lived in, we had this very large, a walk-in closet in the master bedroom. I wasn't allowed to put my clothes in there. I had to put them in the guest room closet down the hall. Oh my gosh, so you're like a pariah. I was, yeah, exactly. And I was treated that way, and rightfully so. Who wants smoke smelling clothes next to fresh smelling clothes? Exactly. You don't realize. The fragrance and the after stink that a cigarette gets into everything. Right, yeah. You don't realize it. Exactly. If you were to give some advice, let's say people are listening to this and thinking about taking nicotine solutions to quit smoking, what advice would you give them? Listen and do the program. The steps are there for a reason, and you realize it when you're going through it. Huh. You realize the difference and why it's set up that way. And to be in a group fun and supportive. I know that sometimes you play Santa Claus that's right. Yeah. And do you still do that? Oh, yes. Okay, and one of my other friends, she dressed up like Santa Claus, too, so I said that I have my claim to fame that I taught two Santa Clauses how to quit smoking. That's right. Yeah. And you know how nice it is that children can sit on my lap and I don't smell like a cigarette. That's right. All right. Well, thank you so much, Hal for being a stellar student and for talking with me. And I hope this will encourage somebody to sign up for nicotine solutions and quit smoking. Absolutely it's worth the support. Good. That's the one thing you don't realize before you're going through it. All right. Okay, well, thank you so much and we'll keep in touch. Yes, we will. All right. Take care. Thank you.

My family has just left after a great Christmas, and they were all very impressed that I am still smoke-free after four years. My grandson was born July 7th, and he is the best reason to help me stay off the smokes. I just wanted to say thank you. The Nicotine Solutions Program has really made a difference in my life. Also, Merry Christmas and have a great New Year. I’m Patty Wiseman from Teslin, Yukon. On May 13, 2007, I became a non-smoker by going through the Nicotine Solutions program. One of the concerns that I had when I started the program is I was a dedicated quitter to smoking for thirty years and had never mastered it. My biggest fear was failing. Every time I would try Zyban, the patch, gum, or other pills, I would fail and then I would end up smoking more. The thing that I liked about the program was that it was a progressive program. It wasn't quitting cold turkey. It was a group setting. The Teslin Tlingit counselor, my employer at the time, had sponsored the program and extended it out to all employees that wanted to quit smoking. A bunch of us had signed up, and we worked in a group. The meetings were once a week. We gradually worked through the process. The advantage of this program was that you didn't quit cold turkey. Everything was explained to you from week to week, exactly what you were going to be going through and what you could expect to happen, what you could expect to experience. It was a very clear process. We knew from week to week and right from the start we knew the timeline we had and what was going to happen with it. One of the biggest parts was the support because we were working in a group, even though it was teleconference. At the end of the 8-week program when I actually was a non-smoker, it was easier than any other time I'd ever tried. I didn't have the high anxiety levels like all the rest of it that I'd had from the other programs that I had tried to take. It's been 4 years, and I'm still smoke-free. Thank you so much for creating the Nicotine Solutions program and changing my life.
Lela, you are the authority to help people stop smoking, Thanks for my freedom.

I'd like to introduce you to Tim Wedrowsky. My last day of having a cigarette was at 8pm on December 20th. 2005. It's been a long time. You used to live in Tacoma, Washington when I used to live in Washington state. Now you have moved to Palm Springs, California. What I'd like to know is what was your life like before you quit smoking and what are some of the things that you tried in order to quit smoking? Back in those days I was very much involved in my corporate world work and I was smoking a pack and a half or two packs a day. I started about 10 years before 2005. I got very serious about trying to quit smoking. And I tried nicotine gum, I tried rubber band aversion therapy, I tried hypnosis a couple times, I tried whatever method was out there and failed at each and every one of them. And then I would go, okay, I could do this, and I could go for 24, 48, 72 hours, and then I'd be back buying another pack of cigarettes, you know, going to the grocery store at 11 o'clock at night to buy a pack of cigarettes. And then beat myself up because I had failed once again. It wasn't until I found your program through a friend of mine in the Northwest, her name is Jill, who is still a non-smoker after 27 years. Once I tried Nicotine Solutions, I was been very successful with it. I've never looked back. Excellent! What’s the difference between when you were trying to quit and what your life is like now what what's different in your life. Well, my whole life, you know, you don't realize it as you're a smoker, addicted to it, because it is an addiction. My whole life was consumed by when I was going to have my next cigarette. Remember going on flights, you know, having to buy nicotine gum as a smoker to get me through a flight. Everything was consumed about when I could have that next cigarette. I was trapped by it, you know, it was completely controlling my life. From the moment I quit smoking that sense of freedom has never left me. So you have a sense of freedom now, whereas before you were always trying to figure out a way to have another cigarette. One of the assignments that I give in the classes is to save the money that you used to spend on cigarettes. And I remember that it was really fun to check in with you because you really took that assignment seriously mainly because you're like a mortgage banker. Yes, I used to buy two packs of cigarettes every morning in the northwest at an Indian reservation on my way to the office they were five bucks a pack and that was cheap back then. When I quit smoking, I opened up a special savings account and every Monday morning I would log onto online and transfer $70 into my savings account. I didn’t touch it and I did that for two and a half years, maybe three years. Then after 3 years, that was my travel money. I went to Mexico a couple of times with my savings! And then you also took a class that was kind of a spiritual and it was pretty expensive and you used your cigarette money to take that class as well. I love hearing and keeping up with my students, but there's certain people like you that I've, kept up with over the years, and you've really grown spiritually and so what is your next step on, on your spiritual path? Well, you know, who knows what the universe is going to bring or provide. But I believe that we are all addicted to something on this planet. Some addictions are much more severe than others. All of them. Help us hide who we are, cover up who we really know we are on a soul level. And I think releasing the cigarettes opened me up to what the universe was providing me on a path to where I'm at today. Wow. And that just continues. That's just the evolution of life. If you were to give some advice to someone that's thinking about quitting smoking and is looking at this program, what would you say to them? And why do you think that this program, Nicotine Solutions, is different and what, why did it work for you? Well, I think your program really addresses the ritual of cigarettes and the day-to-day habit. You address that throughout the six weeks that we smoked in the program. I think becoming aware of the habit and changing and that's what probably did it for me and why I'm so successful. Anybody who's going to look at joining your program, just do what she says in the instructions to do because it works. Well, I did exactly what you said to do and it did work. Okay. Well, thank you so much for meeting with me today and hopefully somebody will get some good advice from listening to you today!

I was nervous about being able to stop smoking because I am a native American and I take part in Sundance in the passing of the pipe, but it has been many years now and I have been able to take part in the passing of the pipe, but I am still a non-smoker” I quit smoking December 21, 2005 Smoked 1 ½ packs a day for 50 years Seattle, WA

Lela’s class helped me quit smoking during an especially difficult time in my life. What made this program unique was the support and comradeship provided by the group even after the class had ended. We emailed constantly and shared our stories for months afterwards. Having a group of new friends going through the same experience provided a great safety net. There was always someone to commiserate with as well as share the triumphs!

I taught Elaine how to quit smoking and Elaine tells us a little bit about coming in. I held a free Informational meeting at Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland, WA 18 years ago and you showed up and tell us like what it was like to come into that meeting. I remember it like it was yesterday. I had tried everything to quit smoking. The free introductory meeting at the hospital caught my attention so that I said I'll go check it out. I didn't tell anybody I was going. I was very skeptical that it would work. I didn't tell anybody I was going through the class except for one friend. And what are some of the things that you said you tried a lot of things? Oh, yes, I had some good sayings. I said I was a professional quitter. Then I would say I was a quitter, or I would say, yeah, I would quit, but who likes a quitter? I made all these excuses because I couldn't quit. And I would quit, but I'd quit for a day, or I'd quit for two days, and it just got to the place where I just gave up trying to quit. I tried things like I remember one time I threw my cigarettes out the window, and then of course I had to pull the car over because I don't litter. I had to go back and pick them up, and I hadn't run over them, so I just had a cigarette. I remember one time I came home and I was so disgusted that I couldn't quit. I had heard somebody say you could put water on your cigarettes. And you could quit that way. I did that, threw them in the trash, threw myself on the couch and was crying, crying, crying. And then finally got myself all put back together and I kid you not, I got the cigarettes out of the trash and I rolled them on a cookie sheet. They weren't like cigarettes. They were actually like fire going through my lungs, but I was just completely disgusted with myself that I couldn't, I just couldn't do it. I couldn't quit. I tried everything. The only thing I hadn't tried was hypnosis because that scared me a little more than smoking. What was your cutoff date that you quit? My cutoff date was November 15th, 2002, which was 18 years ago. I don't even think of it. I feel like I just I never smoked. When I would quit before I would just say that I was a professional quitter. I'd quit, but I always knew it was a matter of time. Cigarettes were always on my mind constantly. I had to know where my lighter was. I had to leave family events early. I hid them in my car like nobody could get in my car. My car never smelled like cigarettes because I had the window down. That was my thought. My whole life revolved around smoking. Everything I did. After I went through Nicotine Solutions, you taught me how to quit. It's like I never smoked. It's not like I was a smoker and I'm trying to always think to not have a cigarette. I remember before we were going to get on this call you said do you know what my cutoff date was and we had to kind of figure it out because it's just like a non-issue for you, right? I think about the things that I've been able to accomplish in the last 18 years. One thing about when I did smoke, I felt like I didn't have control of my life. I had no control of my life, basically because I couldn't quit this stupid little cigarette. The stupid little cigarette was controlling my life. I didn't realize that at the time. And I've been able to quit other bad habits I had, not quite as easily as your program. I always said I wish it worked for everything else, but it works for smoking and that was the main thing. I think now I just have control of my life. Sometimes I get a little emotional because I'm so grateful that I got my freedom back. That's really what it boils down to. Over the years you must have saved like a ton of money. Oh, I should be a millionaire. I remember saying that I would quit when cigarettes got to $4 a pack. Does that sound right? About 18 years ago. Okay, well when I first met you, I didn't like you necessarily in the beginning because I was a smoker and I didn't believe that whatever you were talking about was going to work, which is why I didn’t tell anybody that I was going to your class and then it worked. And I was just like, how did that happen? Like, I was very studious, as you probably remember. We had assignments and I did those assignments and I was all in because I knew it wasn't going to work anyway. I don't know how it came about, but I asked if I could train or if I could teach it or I don't remember how that all happened. But yeah, I taught Nicotine Solutions at the hospital for six years, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. If you were to give some advice on somebody that's smoking and taking a look at this program to say why is it any different from anything else? What, what advice would you give them or what would you tell them? I remember if I told you that kind of what I said a minute ago was, I don't really know how it happened. But I always told you there was just a little bit of magic. You had a magic wand. And I was like, that has to be it. That has to be it. And then when I started teaching and you gave me a magic wand. I have it. Yay! You know, I don't even remember giving you a magic wand, but I guess I did. Yes, so that's my surprise for you today. Excellent. And I have it on my desk, every day, my work desk, I work from home, and yeah, so I think of you often. I haven't seen you for a while but it's so good to connect, and I don't know really how to answer that. It's just, if people are interested in quitting, give it a try. All I can say is if you do the work, you do the assignments and take it you one step at a time, it works. Just a little bit of magic. Gives you a little bit of magic. All right. Well, thanks for meeting with me today.

These quit-smoking techniques are both effective and easy to put into practice. The minor changes required each week were focused on changing the smoking behavior and made the stopping almost a relief. Smoking became boring and a hassle, rather than enjoyable. Lela’s teaching style is caring and the program itself is fascinating. I recommend it (and her) highly.
